Yes, I've had BBC on my TV the whole day in the background. Tragic news. There's about 2000 Swedish people in Japan right now, among them are 500 students, 1 person reported missing. The casualties are however much lesser compared to the Tsunami in 2004.
R.I.P to all victims!

Have you noticed how frequent natural disasters have become in recent years? If the world doesn't end in 2012, something REALLY bad will still happen. That's becoming more and more obvious by now.
Anyways, I feel for Japan and hope they can help all the survivors. Rest In Peace, fallen ones.

R.I.P to all the victims of this disaster.
After seeing all of these earthquakes and such happening I don't realize how lucky some of us are to be living in such a place where these don't happen as frequent. And I learned that you never know how fast your life can be taken away as the earthquake came out of nowhere shocking everyone.

I just donated 300 SEK (~33 Euro's) to the redcross organization. You should do too, at least a small amount.

I would donate without a problem, but I JUST read some article about how over 1 billion (!!!) dollars of Red Cross Japan Relief Fund money has never made its way to the people who really need it. What a sick world.

What a sick world. It's always hard to know what organization to trust but I guess my money will reach those who really need it. I hope what you're saying isn't true or if it's true it will still reach them later on. But hopefully...

Have you noticed how frequent natural disasters have become in recent years? That's actually not really true. The amount of earthquakes and eruptions has remained quite the same in the last decades. Remember also that earthquakes have nothing to do with (possible) climate change. I think it's because of the improved ways of communication and internet: we hear about alot more disasters all over the world. 15 years ago we wouldn't have heard about a small earthquake in Myanmar with 10 people killed, or a mudstream in India with 20 killed.

I think there's a point in that, yes.
