It doesn't work because your computer can't run 125 FPS.

Get a decent graphics card, and a good RAM then your set.

Reinstall the game/mousetrap, lower your graphic card settings, run a defragmentation, run a virus scan, clean your computer from unnecessary games, movies, programs, apps and other stuff, disable Anti-virus/Firewall while you're playing, refresh your Internet status, ask your Internet provider for support etc There are many possible ways to solve this. I've just mentioned a couple of things. Or simply buy a new PC. Old post from nico's topic.

How ? PS: The best thing to increase ur Fps, is the processor. Then Graphic card, and then RAM.

are you using one spinal processor ? if you are , you should buy new computer - four spinal AMD is great idea . It's cheap (about 2000 złotych - 700$) with GeForce GTX470 as your graphic card and with 4GB RAM you should get more than 1000 Fps .. Get this computer only if you are able to pay 1000$ if not..check your computer temperature , if it's higher than 45-50 C you should clean your PC inside (it always help!)

60 or 55? If it doesn't go over 60 it's simply issue of vertical sync.
if you are nvidia user, go to nvidia control panel -> advanced settings -> manage 3d -> global -> find vertical sync, force it off->apply->enjoy
if ati user, go to ati catalyst -> 3d -> all -> wait for vertical refresh -> move the slider to left towards performance(always off). apply->enjoy

You have vSync off cause your fps goes over 60/75 already(you said 80).
What vSync does, is it caps your FPS to your monitors Hz, LCDs are mostly 75hz max(excluding the expensive 125hz ones ;D). CRTs can go over 100 but I don't think you are playing with CRT, rite?
